Union Fair & Maine Wild Blueberry Festival

The Knox-Lincoln SWCD participates each year at the Union Fair & Maine Wild Blueberry Festival
by putting together an information booth on various District workshops, highlights and programs.

The combination of sunny weather and pleasant temperatures helped to put thousands of people in a great mood during this year’s event which featured food & craft vendors, cooking contests, activities and entertainment for all age groups.

The District would especially like to show our appreciation to the following individuals who volunteered
their time to answer questions about the District’s functions and responsibilities within the Community:

 Nancy Brown, Appleton; Tim Hathorne, Union; Gary Balducci, Edgecomb;
Dave & Barbara Hayden, Whitefield; Katherine & Michael Ward, Waldoboro,
Mary E. Thompson, Union & Rebecca Jacobs, Rockland

Community Spirit

In March, Knox-Lincoln SWCD Associate Supervisor Donald Burke joined in the festivities at the Hammond Tractor Open House in Union. Area residents stopped by to chat and gained valuable information about the programs, activities and fundraising efforts provided by the District.  District Office Manager Katherine Ward and USDA/NRCS Resource Conservationist Mary E. Thompson were on hand to answer questions throughout the day.

The Knox-Lincoln County Soil & Water Conservation District is a Non-Profit Organization.  All proceeds from our fundraising efforts are used to promote conservation and the wise use of our natural resources. The Knox-Lincoln County SWCD is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
