Pond Maintenance & Construction
Learn how to build and maintain a pond to enhance your landscape, increase biodiversity and maximize wildlife habitat. Presenter is Candice Gilpatric, engineer at NRCS.
This program is offered in collaboration with Boothbay Region Land Trust and NRCS.
The event will be held at Oak Point Farm and participants will visit the pond onsite.
Registration and payment required by April 9th (deadline extended).




Pasture Management Walk and Talk
Join us for a Pasture Management Walk and Talk at Sheepscot Valley Farm: Learn about grazing and pasture management and best practices to ensure water quality along the Sheepscot River watershed and subwatershed.
Join KLSWCD and our co-host NRCS for this event to discuss grazing and pasture management and best practices to enhance soil health and water quality. Technical and financial assistance to implement these practices will be discussed while walking the Sheepscot Valley Farm. Emphasis will be on how sound pasture management benefits soil health and water quality.
This program is free to the public. Space is limited, and registration is required.

Forestry Walk and Talk
Join us for a Forestry Walk and Talk at Midcoast Conservancy’s Hidden Valley Nature Center in Jefferson: Learn about how to manage forest trails, maintain water quality, improve forest stands and encourage wildlife habitat.
Join KLSWCD and our co-host NRCS to discuss forest, water, and wildlife habitat best practices. Technical and financial assistance to implement these practices will be discussed while walking the property. Emphasis will be on maintaining, protecting, and enhancing habitat, soil and water quality to improve water quality in the Sheepscot River watershed and subwatershed areas.
This program is free to the public. Space is limited, and registration is required.

Pruning Apple Trees-This Event is Sold Out
Learn the pruning techniques needed to keep your trees productive from Cheryl Denz, owner and operator of Terra Optima Farm and Landscaping in Appleton!
Whether you have a small home orchard or one old tree that feeds the deer, this workshop will teach you the basic pruning techniques needed to keep your trees alive - and bearing fruit
Class will also offered on Friday, March 19 2021 from 9:00 AM - noon if there are enough registrants.
5 minimum/ 10 maximum per class.
Class is held outdoors. Please dress for the weather and ground conditions.
Please bring any pruning tools you may have (pruners, loppers, handsaw). A limited number of additional tools will be available.
Please bring water and snacks - and wear a face covering
In the event of cancellation for really bad weather, we will get in touch by email by 8:00 AM
Fee: $15/individual; $25/2 members of one household (plus $1 processing fee if paying online)
